MODULE 01

Prompt Lab

Pick a workplace task. Run all three prompts and compare what comes back. Same AI, same task. The only thing that changes is the prompt.

What you'll learn
  • How to structure a prompt with the TESS framework: Role · Task · Context · Format
  • Why specific beats long: the AI can only prioritise what you tell it to prioritise
  • How to judge AI output quality, not just accept the first answer

Bot Builder

Every chatbot is just a model wearing instructions. Change the instructions on the left, then ask the same question again, and watch the answer change. That's system prompting.

What you'll learn
  • How a "system prompt" shapes everything a bot says: personality, scope and limits
  • How to set responsible constraints (plain English, length limits, always check understanding)
  • Why the same model gives different answers under different instructions
Transfers straight back to work: this is exactly how Copilot agents (Copilot Studio), custom GPTs and Claude Projects are configured. You may not have those licences yet, but when they arrive, you'll already know how to build one.

MODULE 03

Automation Studio

Meet Orchard Events Ltd, a 12-person events company drowning in a shared inbox. Build rules to triage it automatically. This is exactly how Power Automate, Make and Zapier think.

What you'll learn
  • The universal automation pattern: trigger → condition → action
  • Why rule order matters: rules run top-to-bottom and the first match wins
  • How over-broad rules cause side-effects (the #1 way real automations go wrong)
Transfers straight back to work: this is the same logic as Power Automate, the one automation tool most employers already license with Microsoft 365. Practise here on fictional data, then build the real thing at work for your portfolio.
